I would like to talk to departments who got a grant for a ladder truck. Would like to know if any got a platform?
Please include amount of grant and project cost and pop of town.
Thanks.

hey gilamonster,
We haven't put in for a ladder truck, but I do know that the new 05 Program Guidance and the workshop address Aerials. In these you will find a priority level for apparatus based on population. Also (not from the above sources, but from a fire act rep) you will need to show that your community has the buildings which justify such a piece of apparatus. You can find the program guidance and the powerpoint of the workshop at www.firegrantsupport.com

Umm, this year's guidance states "no or few" in regards to high priority vehicles.
This is a change, correct? Last year was "no" vehicles, right?

A city in Florida (Castleberry) got the largest grant this year for apparatus I believe. It was a quint.

You might try some of these folks. I'm guessing they're all either ladders or quints. I have no idea what Tacoma got, I can't imagine them getting a normal aerial/platform/quint, they ought to have had a few of those already IMHO. But considering it was a $1,071,428 project, big platform is the only thing I can think of. Maybe a Bronto?

Marysville Division of Fire Marysville OH Firefighting Vehicle $675,000.00
City of Tacoma Fire Department Tacoma WA Firefighting Vehicle $750,000.00
