    Default manure storage rescue

    any one ever incurred or thought about how to rescue(recover)someone from a manure storage pit or pond , around here they have it so skidloaders can push right up to the edge , they are supposed to have a barakade but you know how things go on the farm, just cringe when i se it but you know sooner or later ... may as well be ready

    I have an uncle who almost died when he fell into a tank of manure. Im not sure how they got him out, but im sure it wasnt a fun rescue.

    Probably common knowledge, but worth repeating.
    Anytime on a manure rescue USE SCBA!!! Like I said, probably preaching to the choir, but you would not think that that stuff would be deadly. And I bet that most people don't see hoisting up in the outdoors for a rescue. Simple formula of methane and oxygen - when one gas is more than the other, you're done. Too many rescuers became victims because of not knowing that fact.
