Ok, so I'm new to the Fire Service. I recently joined as a Junior on a volunteer department until I got kicked off for running red lights and sirens to a work detail at the station. Well eventually, they let me back on, and I'm really appalled that they asked me to leave again after I dropped out of high school to man the station full time. I just don't get it. So what my Grand Cherokee looks like Christmas tree comming down the road. It's not my fault that I entered the burning structure against the rules and without my airpack. But it was ok, because I could see just fine with my 2 lights strapped on top of my new Leather Helmet. I just wanted to get that "Bronx Bend" in my helmet.
I still can't believe that my Capt. kicked me that time I was rolling around on the ground after we put out the brush fire with the 75 pound extingisher I keep in my Jeep. I was just trying to kill the hornets that were flying around me. Or so I told him. When I asked could I practice pumping the Engine, they let me, until I cavitated the pump. It was an accident, and it wasnt my fault. I sware I followed the Engineers instructions. My mom said that I have to get rid of some of my firefighter shirts and wear polo shirts like the rest of my friends. So I decided to auction them off and use the money to buy me a new "Volunteer Firefighter" badge after my old one got ran over by the rig. You can check out my ebay auction Here
My question to you all is, what am I doing wrong? I tried so hard, but yet I've gotten no where. I just dont get it. I've been in the FD for 7 months,I attended all ten calls we had last year and I think I deserve to be at least a Leiutenant, but I guess no one else sees it that way. Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?![]()

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha (now she is rolling on the floor laughing her butt off)
If this post is indeed real then sorry about your luck...or your very poor decisions. I think that there is real merit in the decisions of your Captain. Don't try so hard. And listen to your Captain and follow the rules.

Leaving him with only the one on his class A jacket, the one on the plaque above the fireplace, the one hanging from the mirror in the Cherokee and the one in his wallet he flashes when the "Need" arrises.Originally posted by KEEPBACK200FEET

The thread above about the stop-sign repair is definantly the funniest that I've read in awhile! Thanks for the link.

LOL...StayBack, I know I've read that before...but it was just as funny the 2nd time around...that's one of those stories that ya tell all the probies and they tell their probies and they tell...
And it's cool that you were such a sport about "taking one for the team," and that you can still take the jokes...b/c ya sure do get enough of em on here.
