Question Leather Bunker Suspenders: Where Can I Find'em??

    Hey all,
I'm on the search for leather bunker pants suspenders, but I sure as hell can't seem to find them anywhere. O.k., that's kind of a lie because The Fire Store.com has them, but they only have the one style. I'm looking for some selection, some variety, but most importantly, I'm looking for the best (who isn't really?). So, if I could get some replies to this with websites, companies, who I should buy from, who I shouldn't buy from, etc., I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm tired of using P.O.S. elastic straps that just stretch and/or break. Thanks for reading this and replying with some ideas, advice and comments in advance! Stay safe (and for those of us North of the jet stream, stay WARM) out there.

Yeah, I know I've posted this question before. But I didn't get much of a response before and I thought I'd throw it out there again and see if I could get a few more replies having a new thread posted. Besides, it wouldn't let me delete the old thread for some reason.

Just an FYI, next time you can go back to your original posting, and reply with "TTT"

this acronym, meaning "To The Top" is somewhat acceptable, and will get your question back in the spotlight.

    Good luck brother!

Ive never had a problem with my elastic ones maybe because I live in a warmer climate maybe and they shink i dunno , but we all use them down here in florida and Ive never ever heard anyone complain and never had a problem with them hell the leather on my elastic ones normally goes bad before the elastic does anywho thats just my 2 cents.

I like the lion's pride cloth ones. with padded shoulder straps and they have the pull down tabs to tighten. works great for me. couldn't imagine going back to the elastic ones.

We had them and did away with them. When back to the good old elastic ones.

The members said that there wasn't any give to them when the were reaching or bending over. They were getting wedgies.

Heavens forbid! There is a fire rescue item that Gall's doesn't carry?

But the firefighter on the cover of the Spring/Summer 2004 edition of Galls is wearing them....Odd.

I have a pair from The Firestore that have worked well for me. After a little "break in " period they do just fine at flexing when bending over. The only advice I can give is if your pair has the metal connector in the back to keep them crossed, either replace it with something a little more permanent or use some locktite on the threads. Mine came undone and now I am wearing them uncrossed in the back and they tend to slip off the shoulders sometimes.

When one of the local firematic stores went out of business, I bought some 3/4 boots just for fun, dirt cheap.

I almost bought the leather suspenders for the same reason.

Do guys/gals still wear leather suspenders day-to-day? I haven't seen anyone around here who still does... and I can't imagine it would be as comfie as the newer non-elastic and padded cloth suspenders. Of course the pants these days often make you feel like suspenders aren't even needed.

Hey eck, I think the TTT suggestion was meant for when it's been bumped from the first page, not every hour or so...

As for the question, the only place I've ever seen these is at thefirestore.com
