    Default Sounds like fun

I am looking forward to marching with the Brothers from Gotham and Boston tomorrow at THE largest NEIGHBORHOOD St. Patricks parade outside of Ireland. The SOUTHSIDE IRISH PARADE is considered by many Chicagoans as the "real" Chicago parade. It is a great time for all Irish and Irish wannabes alike to enjoy the day with 300 thousand of their close friends. SOUTHSIDE IRISH PARADE .

Still cursing that I can't make it this year

Have fun everyone, and be sure not to drink the city dry as I'm there ten days later.

    - and be sure to post some photos...

I wont be there March 15th, but I sure do look forward to meeting some more of the FDNY brothers a little over a week later.

    Thanks again 40/35

thanks for the invite ray... I wish I would have known and I might have made arrangements to get that and see my friend Steve. I am actually on shift that day, covering for someone else.

However, I will be in NYC the week of June 12.....We have to meet.

OK in 24 hours from now I'd have just taken off from Heathrow....
I can smell New York from here....the Firehouse smell, the Subway, the deli's...the Pubs.

It should be the same as London...but its different. The buzz and smell of New York runs right through ya...

    Unhappy

Well.....I'll be in the city from 23:45 hrs on the 14th, up until about 0900 hrs on the 15th. Guess that's just a wee bit early to meet you at Blondies. I've got to attend a meeting in NJ Tuesday night...otherwise I'd shack up in the city somewhere and meet up with everyone.

    Alas....it's not meant to be.

    Y'all behave yourselves now...ya hear!

Thumbs up Sunday was a grand day..

Had the pleasure of meeting Brothers from Boston, FDNY, San Fransisco, Stockton Ca., Cleveland and South Euclid Ohio, along with Police officers from NYC, the Port Authority and a few other places. It was great to welcome them to the festive Southside. Everyone had fun.

I'm starting to get that same smell - I'm still a couple of weeks away but I can smell it from here.

Definently agree on the NYC buzz - it's unique.

Just found out that the Commonwealth Games start here next year on March 15 - sounds like a really good time to be out of town to avoid all the traffic chaos etc, so St Paddys 2006 will definently find me in NYC.

Seeing as you will probably all be staggering out of the bars about now when I type this, I hope you all had a great day there.

    Default Thank You...

Well we're back from a whirlwind 4 days in NYC....with not much sleeping and plenty of Partying.

A Big thank you to Ray and all the Brothers at the Houses we stayed. The March was a fantastic buzz...we were overwhelmed to a man.

I never walked so much in my whole life...it seemed the Whole world was in NYC this past week...and they took all the cabs. I must have walked 100 miles but you know that Guinness 'lubes' you up well.

I lost Ray on Thurday...and didn't see him since, met up with Lt Leroy140...and then lost him again...still, we were all part of the party somewhere or the other!!!!

Cheers and Thanks again for the Hospitality shown to me and my lads and all the other UK/Irish Firefighters by FDNY and the Brothers and Sisters from just about every state in the US who were in Town.
