Default USFA might need new spokesman

    -----------------------------------------------------------------
    Quote by USFA spokesman:

When it comes to data for response time, "It's not a statistic that for us, goes directly into saving children, adults and reducing deaths and injuries to firefighters, and injuries and deaths to residents of this nation," Olshanski said.

    Brilliant!!

Of course. How could an adequate amount of firefighters arriving on the scene in a timely fashion have anything to do with saving the lives of children, adults, or reducing injuries & deaths to firefighters??

How does the ole adage go? Its better to keep your mouth shut and let everyone think your stupid then to open it and remove all doubt?

Management is making sure things are done right. Leadership is doing the right thing. The fire service needs alot more leaders and a lot less managers.

"Everyone goes home" is the mantra for the pussification of the modern, American fire service.

Comments made are my own. They do not represent the official position or opinion of the Fire Department or the City for which I am employed. In fact, they are normally exactly the opposite.

His statement makes perfect sense if you happen to look at the world strictly from the fire prevention end of things. Of course that doesn't do much good after a fire actally starts. . .
