    Default PhD Research on Firefighters

    Hello-

I am a PhD student in psychology at the University of Michigan working on my dissertation. I am interested in the stories firefighters tell about their work and how these stories relate to other aspects of their work. In order to complete my research, I have been asking firefighters to complete my survey online. I would appreciate it very much if any firefighters were willing to complete my survey on the web at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=91289846908

The survey takes most people about a half hour to complete. It is a huge help with my degree if people are willing to fill this out.

    Thank you,
    Amy Trahan

    Amy -
I'll help you out.. but right now I can't open the link. I'll try later and/or tomorrow.. I'd be willing to bet all the gravel on my 1/4 mile long drive-way that it's my computer.

    Amy... done!

    Done and done...

Would we be able to get a copy of this dissertation when you're done?

Also, a little FYI, a lot of us aren't career firefighters, and it seemed like that's what the questions were geared towards. Overall, it was a good survey though.

I'd strongly encourage anyone who hasn't taken this online survey to do so.

I did the survey a few days ago and emailed Ms. Trahan about the possibility of passing along the results of her study. She replied and said that she would, but that it would be a while before her work was done. Stay tuned.
