Default Dad retiring today, can you send congrats?

EDIT/INSERT: Please note that he is not retiring form the fire service! I am a firefighter, but he works for the power company! First two replies on the thread show that this wasn't obvious. My apologies.

After 34 years working for the City of Tacoma (WA), my dad is retiring TODAY (March 23) from the position of Sr. Substation Operator at Tacoma Power.

I am trying to muster a flood of congratulatory emails from all corners of the world and from all walks of life. He supported my desire to become a firefighter since I was about 10 years old, and now at 32 after having put in my first 9 years, he now seems to enjoy hearing my tales of firefighting, and holds everyone in this profession in the highest regard.

Please drop him a congratulatory note if you have time! Send email to him at:

fffrank: If your Dad can take 34 yrs of his life and dedicate it to the fire service; I can take 2 minutes. Your Dad just got an e-mail from Canada.--ROOKIELZ

from the position of Sr. Substation Operator at Tacoma Power.
I dunno, seemed pretty clear to me

Either way, 34 years is quite the accomplishment, no matter what the industry.

Hope your dad enjoys his retirement!
