Default Name some songs ............

We used to have a radio on engine 32 but no longer , but we have one in the brush truck.

Anyways this might be a little funny and cool to try this , name some songs you would love to hear either responding or while in a fire on scene. Kind of like a soundtrack type of deal for a movie.

Any music is cool to post classic rock , southern rock , rap , techno , country whatever your fortay is post it lets hear some of these styles that would get you pumped up or just would enjoy.

" If you don't like this thread then just don't post very simple. "

Some of mine -
kid rock / bawwitdaba
Ultimate trance mix / ATB
whiskey in the jar / metallica
you's a hoe / ludacris
save me / queen
regulators / warren g

I have more but some I would like to hear off the top of my head.

I did this thread on the forums a few years ago before the system got hacked and a lot of threads went AWOL in cyberspace*...

As the doors to the firehouse open...
"Thus Sprach Zarathustra" from the soundtrack of 2001: A Space Odyssey

En route to the call....
"The Ride of the Valkyries" by Richard Wagner

On the fireground..
"Burnin down the house" Talking Heads
"Runnin' with the Devil" Van Halen
"Fire" the Jimi Hendrix Experience
"Heatwave" Martha and the Vandellas
"Burn" Deep Purple

Returning to the firehouse...
"Fanfare for the Common Man" Aaron Copeland

*this is all I can remember from my original post so far...
‎"The education of a firefighter and the continued education of a firefighter is what makes "real" firefighters. Continuous skill development is the core of progressive firefighting. We learn by doing and doing it again and again, both on the training ground and the fireground."

I happen to like "Disco Inferno" myself
When the roundtable complaint session starts I think I'd like to blare "Some Heads Are Gonna Roll" by Judas Priest!

This winter during a storm we did a MA call cause they requested a light unit. It was snowing, windy, water everywhere and just sucked after 4 hours.

Bob Segers "Turn the page" seemed to fit the mood on the ride home as the iceicles on my jacket melted.

Thumbs up

Had a few songs in my head that I just HAD to share.

First and foremost: To Resq14----great input but I want you to know that The Dropkick Murphy's (under your Slower Stuff) do a great fast version of Amazing Grace BOTH live and in studio on various CDs. Their Live(IN BOSTON)On St.Patrick's Day CD is the balls! I also highly recommend their "Blackout" CD.

As for more music:I'm not sure why but I can't get "Knocking On Heavens Door" by Guns N'Roses out of my head.

And how about these?
Just Like Paradise-David Lee Roth
FlameThrower-The J.Geils Band
Fuel-Metallica
Long Time-Boston
Best Of Both Worlds-Van Halen
Panama-Van Halen
Jump-Van Halen
Black And Blue-Van Halen
Basically ANY song from Van Halen!

Cool Well..............

A few years ago, we had the Rescue Engine on a Funeral detail, and as we were waiting to join the passing procession, Vince Gill's "Go Rest High On That Mountain" came on the radio. When I swung out in line and headed down the road, there wasn't a dry eye on the engine. To get me rolling, something like Willie Nelson's "On The Road Again" and/or a bunch of Bluegrass Instrumentals like "Foggy Mountain Breakdown" and "Orange Blossom Special" will create that "Pedal to the Metal" Mood. To relax a bit, crank up "Rider" or "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue" by the Seldom Scene. Also, The Barbershop Bluegrass Band's versions of "A Face In The Crowd" and "It's The Natural Thing To Do" are pretty good, as well as my own "Long Black Veil" and "The Fields Have Turned Brown".

Default Hmmm...

I dont want to kill the buzz here, but being in the FD
for around 18 years, I have never listened to music
responding to a call.

As an Officer, I am too busy getting info. from the
radio and keeping an eye on the traffic.

I dont know, maybe its just me...

I don't think anyone actually does, but it is fun to envision the scene from Apocalypse Now where they ride into the assault with "Ride of the Valkyries" blasting from the chopper.

If we were so inclined, this is just how we would do it.
