HOTEL FIRE -- Firefighters were called to the Best Western Columbian Inn, 70 E. 300 South in Provo, around 5 p.m. Friday when a fire broke out in a small storage room between two hotel guest rooms. The blaze burned partially into the two guest rooms. Many rooms were damaged by smoke. Total damages to the hotel were estimated at $100,000. No one was injured. The inn was evacuated for a time; eventually guests were allowed back into one wing. Hotel management found rooms for those in the wing where the fire occurred. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
