I was wondering if anyone knew of a way that I could earn my Firefighter II certification in the Fall of 2005. I have my EMT-B already, and my work schedule is much more flexible in the Fall. Online courses might be too expensive, but I'm willing to drive to a Dept. or campus outside the Kankakee area. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. I don't wanna have to wait till Spring 2006 to take the class. Thanks.

Unscarred, you must be a member of a fire department to obtain OSFM certification. You don't state if you are currently on with anybody. If not, there are several POC departments in the Kankakee area that you might apply to (k3twsp?).
Your only other alternative would be to get a fire science degree from a local community college.

It's a bit far from Kankakee, but I'd guess SWIC in Belleville has FFII in the fall. It would take you living there for a few months.

Yeah, Jay......... That's almost as stupid as what this other guy I work with said.......... You'll have to ask Josh about the trade conversation.......
