Default cant believe Im asking this

I have a Hampton bay ceiling fan on the porch of my
buddys house, she asked me to change the light bulb in it.
It has a one piece globe. I thought no problem, but I
cant figure out how to get the damn globe off. there are
no screws, no visable clips, it turns and turns but wont
unscrew, there is a metal flange above the globe it turns
free also. the fan was installed before she bought the house
so there is no instuction book. I even took the whole light
kit off the fan to see if there was a "way in" from the top,
no luck. any body got any ideas????feeling foolish in fla

It may be held in place with a springy, metal bracket inside. Pull down gently on one side and then repeat on the other. I'm betting that it comes down. To put it back on you just place one side over the bracket and then work the next side back into place. They are a pain in the butt.

If it's the type of light I think it is, you can't pull straight down on it.

Try twisting it and pulling down on one side at a slight angle to get it over the lip of the rim. I hate those kinds of fans. Good luck!

If this action does not work, try calling SWAT they can make a big deal out of a little thing in no time. They will stay back and talk about it for another 2 days.

Talking Sounds like a big problem!

IF it takes that amount of effort to get the globe off,

how many firefighters will it take to screw the light bulb in after you get the globe off.

If you really want to get the globe off. please remember to take your viagra and long union breaks.

    Six?

    1 incident commander
    1 safety officer
    1 rehab officer
1 truck company officer (after all, you need a ladder to reach the fan)
    3 firefighters (NFPA 1710 staffing)
4 person Rit team in case someone falls off the ladder

I come up with a minimum of 11!

Cap, you forgot about the EMS crew, the EMS supervisor, mayor, city council "person," and the fire chief.
