HIGH PRESSURE GAS MAIN LEAK WITH EVACUATIONS:


On Monday 28, 2005 at 1104 Hours (11:04 AM PST), nine Companies of Los Angeles Firefighters, two LAFD Rescue Ambulances under EMS Captain Gould, three Chief Officer Command Teams under the direction of Assistant Chief Anthony Varela, responded to Leaking Natural Gas at 11150 West Burbank Blvd. at Bonner Avenue in North Hollywood. The first in company arrived on scene to find an approximately 3” high-pressure gas main, rapidly spewing natural gas into the atmosphere after a back hoe struck it during construction operations being conducted by DWP. After careful assessment of potential danger to the community, a decision was made to evacuate the surrounding area as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of residents and patrons in the City of Los Angeles. Approximately 15 total occupancies were evacuated. The gas line was shut down at 1227 Hours (12:27 PM PST), residents and patrons were then allowed to return to their dwellings. Due to the quick work of the LAFD in conjunction with DWP, DOT and the Gas Company, no injuries were reported.

Fatal Car- Motorcycle Accident


Two men were killed in a car vs motorcycle accident and a child clining to life due to a head on motorcycle vs car accident. The accident happened South of Union Grove on Hwy 45 & Ninth Ave. in Paris Township. The accident occured when 3 motocyles were traveling together; the 3 motorcycles paased a slom moving car. The last motorcycle attemped on the paas; but didn't make it; he hit the car head on killing the driver of the motorcycle and the driver of the car. The child on the back of the mototcycle was flown to a level 1 trauma center in Milwaukee. The child has life threating injuries. The child was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Paris Fire & Rescue responded to the accident. Rehab was not called to the scene.

Barn Fire


At around 1630 hrs. Raymond Fire & Rescue was dispatched to the 4300 blk of 124th Street in the Town of Raymond for a report of a barn fire. First sheriff squad on scene reported a small fire on the roof. With in minutes; the barn was totaly engulfed. First engine on scene reported a fully engulfed barn fire. Command then called a MABAS box alarm; a tanker box alarm. There was also report's there was a tank of liquid fertilizer next to the barn; but did not become part of the fire. Several fire dept's showed up to the scene to help out with the fire.The cause of the fire in unknown at this time. Rehab was also called to the fire. Fire dept's on scene were;
