Anybody out ther issue citation bars to members?
We used to, and have many left, but due to changes in leadership nobody really seems to know for sure what bars are given for what.
I have searched on the net and it appears the bars can really be used for anything you want - I see no standard.
Due to a past officer trying to do things like FDNY, I belive they may have been modeled after an FDNY standard.
Can anybody help determine what thwe bars are for?
Thanks
Chad

Yo...
Seems to be more area/department specific. I guess modeling
yourself after a big FD is ok too.
I would just make the awards/ribbons an extreme sacrafice
to earn, not easy. It has to be something special like
delivering your first baby or really risking your life
to save several people.

Citations or awards aren't generally given out in my department. Personally I'm glad about that, I'm not in it for the awards, its my JOB.

There's a volunteer department nearby that started doing this a few years ago. Personally, I think it's silly. But, these days, you go with whatever keeps your volunteers happy, I guess...
