This is a real sport, none of your sissy padding, the only padding we ever use is sometimes shoulder pads and head gear (no where near similar to NFL stuff, its alot less padded)
This isnt my favourite discipline of rugby but it gets the point across (im a rugby union player myself)
(there should be a few kiwis and canadians here who can vouch for how much better it is)

Rugby is a wonderful sport. I played football in high school, but the college I attended had no football team. in my sopohmore year, they started a rugby club ... the first 2 years were pretty rough and we only won 3 matches (out of 12) as we were all learning a new sport. By my 3rd year we weren't too bad and ended up at .500. And the beer afterwards was ALWAYS good. Played for a few years after college on local rugby clubs until I blew out a knee skiing ... I hated to give it up.
Long Live PROPS and SECOND ROWERS .... we put the "rough" in rugby!!

HAHAHAHAHHA too funny Martin, but I agree overall - no sissy padding (read WEAPONS). I only played in high school, and only during the PT classes, but much prefer it to that "hydrid" game LOL.If you don't do it RIGHT today, when will you have time to do it over? I don't know much about rugby other than it seems like a grown up version of "Kill the Man With the Ball."
The other thing I know is I love the bumper sticker "Donate Blood. Play Rugby.""Too many people spend money they haven't earned, to buy things they don't want, to impress people they don't like." Will Rogers

ENGLAND DID NOT WIN THE WORLD CUP! JONNY WILKINSON WON THE WORLD CUP! England really did not deserve to win that match and you know it. Anyone ever played ten or seven aside rugby? i swear that the devil invented it to tarnish 'the sport played in heaven'!
( i dislocated my shoulder in a ten aside tournament)
Long live the front row! (i think i am about an inch shorter then i was on thursday though, i was up against a prop twice my size.
btw, my team has played 17 games so far in multiple tournaments and we are yet to loose a game
