    Default Metal cutting blades??

I need some opinions from truck guys.

I am looking for metal cutting blade for our Stihl rotary saw. Need to be able to vent metal roof with various covering on top. ie foam, asphalt, rock etc.

Any ideas and why would be a great help.
    thanks

Not sure what your asking. Are you looking for a part number or a suggestion?

We have 3 blades for our K-12's and Stihl's. One is for masonry, one for wood and one for metal. We use the wood blade on roofs when we use a rotary, which isnt often. We normaly use a chain saw for venting roofs. The one exception I can think of is a metal roof, for that we would use the rotary saw with metal cutting blade.

    PS: Im an engine "guy"

You will have to be more specific...
Do you mean to cut steel or copper or
    alumninum.....

I hope you you're not wanting to start
cutting "steel deck" roofs with that saw,

but that is a different debate.

Try a cutting wheel with carbide blades on it. That is what we have on your K-12 along with a concrete blade.

We use a carbide tip blade on our Partner saw. This cuts wood and light metal (such as sheet metal). If we need to cut heavier metal or concrete, we use an abrasive aluminum oxide blade.

We use our Cutter's Edge vent saws to cut metal roofs (residential). It has a bullet chain on it and it works fine.

Anybody have any experiences with a rotary saw and a carbide blade with cutting metal? Anybody ever cut a steel roll-up gate with that blade? I am curious to know its limitations, and when it's time to go with the aluminum oxide blade.

Why don't you contact the Stihl dealer???? You may also try a local fire equipment supplier as well. This is the first place that I would begin, if I was looking for blades for any rotary saw.

Cutter's Edge is selling a combo blade I think it's called the Black Diamond blade, it is goood stuff, steel, concrete, wood, it's a great blade and it does not wear away while cutting like the abraisives.
