Why am I surprised?

I have read these fourms for a lot of years but have just decided to start posting so if I hurt someones feelings...Sorry.

I just surprised that I can go thru the InQuaters page and a picture pops up with the caption "this is a picture of our bar". I know its a fact of life and thats how it was (I am young so I wouldn't unbderstand) but now days its not something to be proud of...Is it?

Maybe its just me.

Well looking at that my real concern would be their priorities, that bar looks like it is part of the Hall that they rent out for functions more then your Ole' School firehouse bar. My concern is that hey appear to have put more work and effort into a nice bar then they have on critical things like the Radio Desk/Office.

Thats a very good point...it just stumpped me thats all thought id point it out... Good observation though i didnt think of the hall side.

I'll tell you though, when my 90+ year old grandmother from up state NewYork learned that I had joined the department down here, the first thing she had to say was "Do you have a nice bar at the firehouse? Your great grandfather's house had a great bar when he was the Chief!"
