Teens arrested in arson, burglary
DESTIN — Two teens have been arrested after allegedly stealing a Cadillac Escalade and setting it ablaze, according to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office. Jonathan Daniel Burke, 16, of Destin and a 15-year-old Mary Esther boy reportedly broke into the 2003 Escalade in March and stole the keys, according to an arrest report.

The 15-year-old reportedly confessed to deputies he and Burke later returned to the vehicle to steal it and drive into a swamp where they decided to burn it to get rid of the evidence, according to the report.

Both boys have been charged with grand theft auto and burglary to a conveyance, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Burke also was charged with vehicle arson while the 15-yearold was charged with principal to vehicle arson, according to the report.
