DELAND -- The remains of Molotov cocktails were found Wednesday morning at the South Woodland Boulevard office of the Department of Children and Families.

None of the bombs appeared to have been lit, according to DeLand police.

"There was no charring on the cloth wicks," Lt. Dennis McGuire said. "It's strange."

A maintenance worker found the broken beer bottles filled with gas and oil lamps around 9 a.m. near the office's front door. No one was injured.

DeLand police and the state Fire Marshal's Office will investigate the incident, McGuire said.

The office provides childcare, Medicaid and other services.

DCF District Administrator Alan Abramowitz said there are 90 employees and hundreds of clients in and out of the office every day. There was no slowdown in the traffic on Wednesday, he said.
