That is a bit far from where Chief Woods is. I don't know exactly where 18 is on the run card, but I'm guessing the tower or squad might go on the second alarm. That fire was only a box assignment though, didn't even get a task force. The assignment was RS14, T14, E112, E121, TW7, T9, E131, E351. Working fire dispatch was A17, MD12. This was a pretty good fire. It started in an illegally finished attic and crews were unable to access the fire while the roof deteorated (video 1) and everyone was pulled out (video 2, you can hear the evac tones going off on the radios). Once they figured things out, they sent one truck and one engine back in to put it out.

Here are some pictures of the fire (including a few taken by yours truly):

    Thumbs up

I posted this on our FOOLS website because I thought it was a great pair of videos that everybody who is or could be an Incident Commander should see.

The IC did a good job seeing conditions deteriorating and getting everybody out to regroup.

A textbook example of putting the Brothers before the building.

    Talking Nope.........................

I wasn't there, and you can't prove that I was. Actually, That is a bit out on the edge for us, except under unusual conditions. The way we get to most jobs like that is to start on a transfer to a station that is already on the incident, then get "picked up" on a subsequent alarm. We did a Three alarm Fire in a High Rise Apartment building a few blocks away, I was assigned the 11th floor sector on that one.

Eric, you probably will be on a job with us out on Greenbelt rd. sooner or later, come up and say hey.

    Smile And...............

Forgot a minor item. The Fire was in the first due area of the Berwyn Heights VFD, (Co. 14). Riverdale (Co. 7) is about 4th due there.
