Homeland Security Commercial Equipment Direct Assistance Program.The grant is available now and is done on line.

The equipment list is short and sweet.
1.TIC
2.Night vision systems
3.search camera victim location system
4.Advance Portable detector
5.CEDAP PPE Kits
6.Information sharing and risk management software.

The grant is for State and local emergency responders.

If I'm not mistaken, that application period ended May 3. However, the short equip. list was for Phase 1. There is another Phase due out over the summer sometime, and it is said to have 3x the funding and a longer list.

For a FD to apply they must be part of a TASK force and/or work in conjunction with a Law Enforcement agency. The CDEAP has been around for LE awhile, I believe, but only now including FD and EMS.

Keep checking that website posted for the second Phase. Also, you can download the PDF that has the guidelines and also includes a copy of the online application. Good Luck!

i put an app in for this program because our dept works close with the city police dont expect to be awarded but figured id try any news on when they start awarding?

Today @ 1700 eastern time is the last day for the applications. Phase II is supposed to start in May or June according to the site.
