Hey guys, I will be flying into Dulles A/P for a working visit to Washington, DC.
I'd like to get in touch with any 'o you Crustys who live in and around the area and maybe raise a few. :d I'll have a rental car so getting around (hopefully) wont be too big a problem. I'll be in town 23-29 May.

I live in the DC area. I'm pretty busy right now, but you could definitely stop by the station for a bit. I can also try to answer any DC questions you have. Send me a PM.

Well I made it "here" LOL. I arrived all and well and on time. It took a few days to find an internet provider, the Libray is wonderful!

The house hunting is going well and I have two that I am putting offers to now. Hopefully I'll have some good news before the end of today (Thursday).
One thing I have noticed here is absolutely nothing is done small here! LOL. From the meal portions, right down to the size of a "typical home". I am not sure what that is other than MANSION SIZED
But thats ok, it just means that I have more room to sprawl heheheehee.
And yes, Tanker, once I finalize the deal, I'll make sure and send picutres

LZ, I have been given a military transfer to the Canadian Embassy in DC. I dont move till July, but am out here to find a new home for me 'n da dawwg. I am just waiting now for the papers to go though on a house - its HUGE! LOL But then so is everything else around here.

As for the type of work I will be doing? Well it seems that even since I arrived on Monday, my job description has changed at least once, and is already under revision. About all I know for sure is that I will be a Finacial Manager of some sort, looking after military credit card applications amongst other things, so this is going to get real interesting real fast. The job was only just created in the past few weeks, so even my bosses arent exactly sure what I will be doing. They promise me that all will be sorted out before I actually arrive. If you don't do it RIGHT today, when will you have time to do it over? (Hall of Fame basketball player/coach John Wooden)

Rick, the "house" they're trying to sell you doesn't happen to be at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue does it?Originally posted by MalahatTwo7

If it is, you might want to consider someplace else. I'd guess the current occupant ain't going no where until sometime in January of 2009, and there are several others itching to get in there already.

A MalahatTwo7 Sighting...............
NEWS FLASH! MalahatTwo7, A/K/A Rick, was sighted enjoying a Pizza Dinner on Friday Evening 5-27 At the Fire Station in downtown Glenn Dale, accompanied by Chief Woods. Rick made it in here, but, as the best laid plans of mice and men go astray, could not get a rental car. So, he learned to use Metro instead, which is a good thing, since it goes everywhere you want to go (Almost).

That Too.............
Looks like Rick will be living on the other side of DC, But who knows, people from out of state commute to P.G. to Volunteer. (Yes, really. I have no clue why, probably the fast paced life.)Originally posted by EFD840

As for the "recruiting" speech, Lt D was pretty big on that. The guys were a bit disappointed that there were no calls during my visit, but I am sure that will not always be the case.
I would like to extend a big THANK YOU to Chief Woods and his gang for their hospitality and y'all can bet that I'll be out that way for future visits for sure.
I got some pics of their vehicles and as soon as I can get a chance to download them I'll post em if they turn out.
And no, Steamer, I am NOT moving into 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Its a nice place and all, but well ya know how that "Pink Marble" goes, especially when it gets too hot
**Oh wait that happened a long time ago LOL**
