This is pretty cool...what do you think?
The Greensboro Fire Department, in collaboration with the Greensboro Transit Authority (GTA), unveiled a "wrapped" GTA bus as part of a new initiative aimed at educating residents on fire safety and prevention.
The unveiling took place at a press conference on Monday, May 2nd, at the new Fire Station No. 11, at 2602 South Elm-Eugene Street.
The bus is superimposed with a plastic coating that includes safety messages, numbers to call for smoke detector installations, and graphics explaining what residents can do to prevent fires.
The interior of the vehicle will include seasonal fire safety messages that appear in English and Spanish.
The wrapped bus will primarily serve the southeast area of Greensboro where the highest number of fires occur, but will also service other areas throughout the city.
Pretty neat public relations gimmick! The graphics are cool. Sure to attract attention!

"I have a dream. It's not a big dream, it's just a little dream. My dream — and I hope you don't find this too crazy — is that I would like the people of this community to feel that if, God forbid, there were a fire, calling the fire department would actually be a wise thing to do. You can't have people, if their houses are burning down, saying, 'Whatever you do, don't call the fire department!' That would be bad."

They built this Bus/Fire Engine Demonstrator on a small City Bus Chassis and displayed it at the UK Fire Show in Manchester last September...
Most of the equipment on a regular Pumper... but with seating for ten in the front set out like a bus still. This is not good for those who want to save Money by cutting Fire Engines and Equipment!!!!
THis could replace Two Pumps at a Station each with a Crew of 5 or 6 and with about 1/3 of the equipment the two Pumps can carry.
