    Any volunteer depts outside of the New York area have Drill Teams or Racing Teams??

    I used to watch this stuff on Wide World of Sports in the 70's. I think they used to have it at the Islip Speedway. Is it ever on TV anymore? Do they do the "Slide for Life" anymore? This was pretty cool stuff, but it looked dangerous as hell.

    I have seen it on some local stations but not national tv. Thats why im asking. I really think its a local thing. Some events are more dangerous than others. The "truck" gets up to 80 mph on C ladder. The motor pump event has been known to send the nozzleman several feet in the air.
