SAFER, but less informed...
What in the world type of stuff is eligible under SAFER, particularly for volunteer recruitment & retention? Uniforms? Station perks? Pension programs are probably on the top of the list. Since salaries are eligible, I'm sure there's something in there about POC reimbursement and other such interest keeping topics.
Personally a weekly steak and potato dinner would work for me.

LOL...some examples for volunteers I have heard mentioned are the following: TO gear for new members after they have put in so many hours and a certain level of training, FF I & II classes for new members, advertisements in newspaper for volunteers, per call payouts for volunteers, booth at career expo asking for volunteers - but hey? Steaks...that'll bring in some people!
