DAVIE -- Two off-duty firefighters helped pull a 17-year-old girl out of a burning Jaguar after a fiery crash on Interstate 595 Sunday morning, The Florida Highway Patrol said.

The teenager, Cooper Greco of Weston, suffered burns over 70 percent of her body, Trooper Sean Brammer said. As Greco drove the 2002 Jaguar west about 8:15 a.m., her car apparently developed a flat tire, according to a police report. The Jaguar may have been stopped or driving slowly when rear-ended by a pickup truck, the report said.

The driver of the 2004 Ford pickup truck, Chris DelCampeo, 33, of Davie, is a firefighter. Another off-duty firefighter, who police could not identify, happened to be driving by. DelCampeo and the other firefighter helped pulled Greco out of the burning car.

An ambulance then rushed her to Broward General Medical Center.

The accident closed westbound lanes of I-595 for almost two hours.
