Apartment fire
Sturtevant, WI


At around 0150 hrs. Sturtevant Fire & Rescue & Mt. Pleasent Fire was dispathced to the 3000 blk of 86th St. for a report of a fire in the basement of an apartment building.First police officer reported a working fire. As soon as command got in scene he requested a MABAS BOX. Heavy smoke showing, but little fire. Firefighter's helped the occupent's exiting the building. Firefighter started removing people from there apartment's. Several fire dept's were on scene and some dept's relocated to Mt. Pleasant station 1. Rehab was also called to the scene alone with the American Red Cross.The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. Fire dept's on scene were;

GREATER ALARM BRUSH FIRE:


On Thursday, May 19, 2005, at 1221 hours (12:21 p.m. P.S.T.), twelve companies of Los Angeles Firefighters, one Assistant Chief Officer Command Team, three Battalion Chief Officer Command Teams, one LAFD Rescue Ambulance, one Battalion EMS Supervisor, three LAFD Helicopters, one Arson Unit, and other LAFD support personnel, under the direction of Assistant Chief John Ware, responded to a Greater Alarm Brush fire at 807 West Isabel Street in the Cypress Park area. First units on the scene reported approximately two acres of grass and light brush burning on a hillside and moving in the direction of several homes. Firefighters using handlines and aided by helicopter water drops aggressively attacked the fire and confined it to approximately three acres of brush and grass. The fire threatened five homes, but quick defensive action by Firefighters prevented fire spread to the structures. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is listed as under investigation.
