You want to fish for bass? Try the Australian Seabass. Commonly seen size? 11-13 lb - and known to go up to 6ft 7in and 130 lb... Uusally known here as Barramundi, thought by many to be the best fishing we have (apart from the swordies maybe?). As I can't really go after them with the .308 I'll leave them alone.

I'm willing to bet that I haven't killed this thread!

The Bay is too salty, even in the best of times, so the Bass are in the Tributaries. On the Potomac, the Brackish part of the river is from the Chain Bridge in Washington DC to a point North of the US 301 Bridge in Newburg, Maryland, almost a 50 mile run. Best Bass fishing is from the Woodrow Wilson Bridge (I-95) southeast to Nanjemoy Creek in Charles County. Coincidentially, this is also Maryland's Top Catfishing area. Great place to fish.
Harve, do you ever fish at Great Falls? I used to do a lot of rock hopping there, as well as some fishing. Had a great time and still sometimes miss the place.

Everyone likes random information. Did you know that Howard Taft was the only US president to get stuck in his bathtub?

    Oh yeah?
What was the name of the poor sumbitch that had to get him out of the tub?
I'll give you a hint. His nickname is "One Nut".

What are the little gritty things in the fig newtons? They get stuck in my teeth.

Maybe I shouldn't pick them up off the floor and eat them, but I like watching them bounce across the tiles... You get extra points if you can get them to bounce more than twice!

Firecat, actually, I like strong black coffee with my newtons. No sugar or cream. Milk is for OREOS!!! When was the last time you had Oreos with ice cold milk. It's better when the milk is actually Vanilla Ice Cream.
I fish for a living, but I have to work for money...

Man you Texans take this stuff seriously!

    Zero tolerance speed camera

With the Texas highway death toll continuing to increase each year, especially around the Holiday period, this will be the first year that Zero Tolerance Speed Cameras were introduced in December. The new cameras look different from the normal cameras. I have included a photo so that you are familiar with them and able to make sure not to speed when approaching. Please take this warning seriously as you will not get another chance.

Might be time for a recap.

Oreos, fig newtons, time and space, fish, a smattering of Monty Python, special guest appearances by Jerry Garcia,....

I'm sure I've left out a lot of stuff. This is what I can recall at this hour.

Anyone else ready for new and interesting topics?

    Okay, go ahead.

YUCK! I may be half German but that doesn't mean I eat my fries like they do (friends of mine stationed at Augsburg said they hated their fries that way too).
