Never having been to Germany I did not know they ate french fries with mayonnaise.

I first learned of it from the Davis brothers who hailed from Indiana.

Does that ring any hoosier bells?

    Fries are great with mayo!

Ketchup is third on the list, after mayo and gravy (might as well throw poutine in there too). Not that I have fries very often.

Thank you, we cannot access Google or Wiki while at work. (Only fire and safety sites are available.)

Thanks for the info, though i have to admit from that description poutine does not sound all that appetizing to me.
Though i should not knock it if i have not tried it, eh?

I agree, its not very appetizing. Just to look at it when somone else orders it (its a favourite French Canadian dish) my stomach just rolls........... I like all the ingredients, but not in that format.

I believe most places (in the west?) use mozza instead of the traditional French-Canadian way.

Mozza, bree, cheddar, gouda, It dont matter. All YYUUUKKK when mixed in with fries and gravy.

Cheeze is good in sandwiches; gravy on fries (not mixed with anything else).

Hot dogs get brown mustard and ketchup and relish and onions.

And I wonder why I don't sleep very well.

    Sandwiches = mayo.

Hotdogs & hamburgers = mayo and ketchup.

For all of the above ... and/or cheese (preferably melted).

I can't stand mustard or relish. *gag*

Oh and the most critical part .... PUT THE DAMN CONDIMENT RIGHT ON THE BUN! Like really, why put the mayo and ketchup on TOP of the burger and have a dry bun? Or the mayo on top of the sub fixings and have a dry bun??? Just makes no sense to me whatsoever!

Sorry, had to come back to add that little pet peeve. When I go to Subway I always start with "Can I get the mayo on BOTH SIDES of the bun FIRST please". Then cheese on the top and cheese on the bottom, then the ham/lettuce/tomato.

Hey, I figure if I'm going to pay $5-10 for a fast food meal (MickeyD's, Subway, take-out/delivery - whatever) I'm going to get it made the way I like it.

Just add bacon! Everything goes with Bacon. Bacon makes it better.

    Pizza+bacon, hamburger+bacon, hotdog+bacon, frenchfries+bacon, vanilla ice cream+bacon, eggs+bacon, shrimp+bacon, gravy+bacon, sub sandwich+bacon, birthday cake+bacon, aspirin+bacon, lipitor+bacon, chicken sandwich+bacon, mashed potatoes+bacon, turnip greens+bacon, black-eyed peas+bacon, beer+bacon...

    It all sounds so good!

I find it too messy on the dog.

In a bowl with cheese and more onions.
