I've often wondered what would be the best socks to wear inside of my turnout boots. I shy away from cotton, mainly because it is flammable. I tend to lean towards wool because I've never seen flamming sheep. Has anyone else thought about this subject? What about Nomex?
Red socks work quite well.
Are they really out there? Cardinals fans, that is... I thought they were just Cubs fans who got left out of the playoffs...
Cubs? Never heard of 'em. ;)
What was that about 'flaming sheep'? The flamin' things are everywhere out in the bush! Oh, wait, you were using 'flaming' as an adjective', I used it as an expletive...
Socks, cotton, wool, Nomex. Let's face it, if it's that hot that your socks are on fire, you've had it anyway!
Just how hot are ewe? Can sheep swim? If they swam in a hot tub, would they shrink? If a flock of sheep were running close together inside a pen, what would be the risk of electrical shock from the build up of static?
My last girlfriend was a lot like ewe, except for the Bah, Bah, Bah.. It was more like Blah, Blah, Blah... :) ;)
Is it improper to post in the Off Duty Forums when you're on duty?
I'm thinking about getting a new job.
This whole working for money thing is really starting to bum me out. I need somebody to pay me for doing nothing productive.
Congress, here I come!
If you change your name to "None of the Above" you're guaranteed a win.
Somebody is called "witty" if they tell funny jokes. Is a boring individual with no sense of humor called "wit-less?"
Someone who is not very smart is called a "half-wit.", so why not call a smart person "full-wit."
Somebody who sees something happen is called a "witness." So if you didn't see anything, does that make you a "wit-not?"
Anger management classes should teach you how to get mad, right??
If a person brings a gun to a knife fight, who is going to tell him he's disqualified???
This thread almost dropped to page two. We can't let that happen. For those seeking perfect weather, it is 62F here, bright blue skies, and gorgeous. I took the day off work cuz they make me nuts. Of course, here I sit inside writing AFG narratives (professors gave us spring break off this time, so I have more time to play at least for the next day or so till I have to get back into coursework).
I'm thinking maybe some fresh Pacific Red Snapper tomorrow if Whole Foods has it. Let me know if I need to pick up an extra fillet or two and what time to expect you.
The best thing about taking Friday off, is that you still have two more days off when it is over.
Happy Easter to those who may be celebrating it or is that un-PC?
For me, all of what were termed religious holidays are now folk festivals - so nothing PC in what you said! Mind you, 'PC' and me are definately not friends, I think it's a load of rubbish.
For those of you who do see Easter and other festivals as religious, good on you! Keep your beliefs, and keep celebrating. If non-believers get upset, that's their problem.
And what about the Druids?
When they make their comeback it's not going to be pretty and it will be "Up against the wall" time.
Have a nice day.
Ah, the Druids and their big stone computers. Or whatever the researchers think they were (this week).
My Dad has a book with political type cartoons in it. On has a drawing of Stonehenge, and God is "talking" with the Devil (before he was cast out):
Devil: "Gee God. Whats that there ya built and what's it do?"
God: "I call it "Stonehenge", but it doesn't do anything. Should drive those humans crazy trying to figure out though." ;) :D
God has a wonderful sense of humor.
Just take a look around. It's everywhere.
I thought Stonehenge was built by these guys......
So, Stonehenge was an alien kindergartner pottery class????
Stonehenge would look great with aluminum siding.
And maybe an azalea out front.
A blue spruce might work well.
And the druids could worship it!
