Valentine's Day - what a load of crap.

As bad as 'Father's Day' and 'Mother's Day'. My 'day' is my birthday, and as long as my sons don't forget to mention it, I'm happy.

Valentine's Day= too many rules to follow.... I will default ahead of time since I know from past experiences that anything I do/have done, hasn't been adequate for my past romances.. However, they did get the image of an arrow piercing one's heart right!

I do like the candy, though.. It is a great time to put on those few extra pounds before warm weather begins. Nothing like conditioning to get ready for fishing tournaments in the spring. All that extra fat comes in handy when you skip lunch because the bite is on fire. Who needs lunch when you have Bass?

We just had our first club tournament (2-9-08) in one of the clubs that I have joined this year. I am happy to report a great day of fishing, with a (high for me) Third place finish. Sometimes it is hard to beat a spinnerbait bite in early spring, prespawn conditions.. However, I noticed that my recirculating pumps failed to work, so that means time to remove all the panels to find the pumps and do the trouble shooting. But, then again, the primary pumps worked, so I'm in no big hurry, still, it is a good reason to spend a day playing with the boat... Let's see, go fishing or fix boat... Either way, it's a win-win ..

Now don't you start throwing logic around in this thread, it will kill it real fast.

Logic is the answer, how many BS threads have we seen killed when someone actually applied logic to it?

I must get my 1's and 0's organised into a logical fashion, I will return.

Yeah, I never could upgrade. I had an average of 1.6 pound fish. (8.20 total). The fellow who won had over 13 lbs, one over 5, and one over 3. Second place had big fish of over 6 lbs. (5 fish limit) However, given the fact that I stayed in my primary area, and never went hunting for bigger fish,I was happy with my catch. I expect to catch a bigger limit when I have another club tournament on the same lake in March as the water warms.

Firecat, it was a spinnerbait bite that included 51-54 degree water. I followed a ditch through a backwater slough that usually is inaccessable due to lily pads during the summer. I found the ditch last year, and was able to catch around 9 lbs from it during the middle of summer when water surface temp was around 90 degrees.(Had to use a push pole to get to it.) I caught most fish with long cast to the deeper pockets that I could see in the clear water. I would slow roll the spinnerbait through the deeper areas, then burn it across the shallow areas back to the boat. Usually, when I found a deep pocket, I would catch 3 keepers, then I'd have to move to the next one. Most fish came from 4 feet of water, while the edges of the ditch were only 1 foot deep. This area is an excellent spawning flat, but requires idling about 100 yards to get to. I spent most of the day running back and forth through the area with my bigger keepers comming later in the day. The bass absolutely killed the spinnerbait, with the majority being hooked deep in the side of the mouth. No trailer hooks for me, and also no trailer on the bait. Is that what you needed to know?? As for the brand of spinnerbait....

    Jerry.

Second line, 12th digit should have been a 1 for the logic to work.

As for Santa, he knows. You notice everything is red this holiday. Next month everything is green for St. Pats. It is a plot to make us start thinking about the "C" word.

By chance are you trying to avoid the reality that Christmas 2008 is only 311 days away??..........
