Instead of turkey this year, I cooked 16 lbs of steaks. Yep, 16 lbs. I figured if I was going to have leftovers for a week, I would have leftovers I reallly wanted. Steak sandwiches, steak and potatoes, looks like it will be steak 'til Wednesday, at least.. Life is good!

We stopped doing the included "ham" thing a few years ago. Turkey tasted better.

But in all honesty, I do miss the even day turkey whatchamacallits, and the odd day ham whateveryouwant-tocallit.

Hmmm, that makes me want to smoke some venison jerky that was donated to me. That is my plan of meals for a while now, some venison steaks, venison burger, venison jerky, and all the turkey is gone.

A spiral honey ham taste better than a roasted dry turkey.

Beside ham makes a better sandwich later on.

D'Artagnan Mangalica ham, goose, sweet potato casserole with marshmallows, green bean casserole, stuffing, and hot rolls. Finish with chocolate or strawberry mousse.

If normal tradition holds, we will have take and bake pizzas and chicken strips of some sort to eat. It seems that is all my sister's kids will eat. Then there will be sausage balls, all sorts of potato and corn chips, cheese dip, cookies, and chocolate candy. Usually, somebody sneaks in a vegetable tray, and some undistinguishable conglomerations of some sort of dip that is supposed to be made of healthy stuff.
After the meal, I will pop the top on a bottle of wine for sharing with others. When the guest leave, and all is calm, I will open my bottle of Jim Beam Black, and pour me a glass of the fine liqour for my own enjoyment.

Been away for a while - too dang busy for fun stuff. There has been a bit of a news flash though.... I got a promotion of sorts from St John Ambulance. When I took over the job, they called me "Superintendant" for about two weeks, then the title changed to "Unit Coordinator", as of two weeks ago, it became "Chief". Still get the same pay and the same political BS, no matter what the title is. ahahahahahaa

Now if that announcement don't kill this thread NOTH'N WILL
