Thanks for the clarification on the garage door...
8 pints. 4 of them were the low test "y'all" call beer.
Istn't there a rule about not posting while drinking? Perhaps I should follow.

Speaking of pints, Rual....after work I also hit a local pub for a few. No Guinness for me.....just "low test." I'll hand it to you, though....it's been a while since I've had 8 of 'em and I sure as heck couldn't come back to turn on a PC, much less type anything legible or sensible (as Cheffie said).......

The boss was buying..... and now I'm back my hotel room which is about the size of the back of our rescue truck. I have a lovely view of a brick wall. Mindless drivel on tv.. I think its called South Beach.
I'd go for a walk, except I'm afraid to go out alone at night here.

Speaking of ice cream what are everyone's preferences ?
Me: I like the cheapest, off brand vanilla ice cream, smothered in chocolate syrup.
My wife thinks I am crazy: she like the gourmet Edy's and Blue Bunny flavors, and when she buys vanilla she get the Gourmet , or vanilla bean or whatever sounds fancy vanilla. The fancy stuff is wasted on me, I will just drown it in syrup anyway.

vanilla or cookie dough. though that neopolitan (the strawberry, choc. vanilla, whatever its called) is good when its all mixed and a little melted.

CR- I hope the cupcake was good. How is the knee doing?
rual- Aren't you somewhere deep in the heart of Texas? Politicians grow like weeds there, you are wise not to walk alone at night.
pvfire- Actually, I had some really good sorbet on New Year's Eve. It was made from blood oranges and very tangy. I like sorbet better than ice cream. Dinner was very nice that night too. I was treated to a night out on the town. Roasted sea bass for the main. My dessert was an amaretto parfait of sorts. VERY YUMMY. (the orange sorbet belong to the smiling face across the table. I had to taste test it for him!) YUMMY YUMMY.

Other than that, most any Sorbert will do as an alternative. Lime is best tho.If you don't do it RIGHT today, when will you have time to do it over? (Hall of Fame basketball player/coach John Wooden)

Friday the 13th...
I made it back from Houston with a small hangover..... Jmitchell. I was working just off the hardy toll road near Berry Rd. Loved the sound of the Q on your trucks as they went to calls. They basically just stood on the thing when they were on surface streets. Like music to my ears.
22:00 last night we get a call for a grass fire.. which is odd, because there is snow on the ground. We pick our way through the ice fog to find a field about 155 acres full of large round straw bales. Not nicely stacked in one place, but spread across the whole field. All of them burning. The landowner didn't want to collect them, so he thought he'd just burn them.... Our county has a zero tollerance for burns without permits so we kept warm by pulling the bales apart and soaking them down... for about 4 hours... Tempurature was in the teens (F).... Pressure gauges frozen, hose frozen. Our drinking water was nice and cold..
Our neighbouring department got called to a 2 semi head on while we were playing with our bales, and as we listened, the police reported 3 more cars were added to the mix before they got the road shut down.
Surely, the rest of the day will be quiet.SRFD905 - Serving since 1998

Ah yes the sweet sounds of the Q echoing through the night, though some people tend to get a little trigger happy with them.
I hope you had a good time down here. How did you like our magical weather? Hot, Chilly, Hot, Hot, Humid, Chilly, Warm. <~~that would be within 2 days. At least it's better than the teens.
