    Default Condensed Q

    Hey gang,
Any of you guys use the "condensed Q" for 3" 4" and 5" for fire ground calcs? How does that work out? Whats been your experience with it. Seems to me that in a hurry they are kinda lengthy. I've just been playing around with them in training.

Anyone else have any neat shortcuts like the "Rule of Palm" for 2.5 for other hose sizes like 1.75". Just curious if there are more out there that are actually not in IFSTA FADO manual?

    Default Condensed Q

For 3 inch hose with 2.5 couplings I use Q squared. As far as 5 inch goes, I dont even think about FL until the flow get about 1000 gpm, then its 8 psi per hundred.
