BRISTOL, R.I. (AP) - There's a new fire chief in Bristol.
The job had been filled on an interim basis since December, when
David Sylvaria resigned after being arrested for allegedly
assaulting a woman at a local bar.
Robert Martin is the new chief. He's 25-year veteran
firefighter.
Martin retired from his job as a contract administrator with the
U-S Department of Defense to take the job. He'll make 60-thousand
dollars annually.
The volunteer department has 200 members.
