a Nevada forestry firefighter crew supervisor.
Officials say 44-year-old Audie Lee Cross and a 12-man inmate
crew from Carlin Conservation Camp were working on a fence when the
accident occurred Friday.
Details of the accident were not released, but officials say it
occurred about ten miles south of Battle Mountain.
The Nevada Division of Forestry, Lander County sheriff's office,
and the state occupational health and safety inspectors are
investigating.
Cross had worked for the state agency since 1999. He leaves
behind a wife and seven children.
