Some people over the years have been asking where to
order leather helmet shields?

I don't know anything about Sam Brown shields, but I'd take a Paul Conway over Cairns any day (I have both).
The Conway keychains can be ordered without the hole on request. They're great for kids who want a toy helmet that looks just like the one dad(or mom)wears.
Anyone have experience with Shields of Valor?
I have ordered mine through thefirestore.com. They come out looking awesome, especially the reflective lettering.
how about a gold leaf shield. who makes the best?
I dont know who makes the best helmet shields out there,
but if you call Sam, I am sure he could hook you up.

I like the "what you see is what you get" ordering. The lettering is decals rather than silk-screened so I don't know if it will hold up well. I'll keep you posted.
The reflective letters are decals, the normal non-reflective ones are silk-screened. So far the reflective letters have held up well, on both the work helmet and volunteer helmet.
I ordered a shield of valor from thefirestore.com. It's actually really good. I got it silk screened with the number in the middle sewn on. I didn't get the patent leather, just the regular one. It's pretty thick leather too.
A couple of us at Glenn Dale have ordered new Shields, I'll post a picture when we get them. New Material, New Technology. Should be interesting.....;)
Has anyone seen one of those key chain shields in chiefs gold? I was gonna get one but I don't know if they look anything like the regular size ones or are some kind of mustard color with crappy looking crossed horns?

There is another company that makes custom leather keychain shields, i'll see if i can find the link and name of the company when i get home. If somebody can beat me to it, they advertise in Fire Trader.
Ok, I posted one site here and everyone else wants to go
to a major company to get something. This guy, Sam Brown
is a retired Fireman and makes quality stuff and will fix
anything wrong.
So if your order isnt right, I am sure he will work it out
for you vs. waiting on hold with a big place.
PS- He isnt based in California. (I know some of you hate
the West coast) Hes in Kentucky. Check him out.
Paul Conway Shields owner is still a line fire lieutenant. He also stands behind his work. He's also not west coast.
Just my two cents....Had a Sam Brown on a Ben2 in a training burn( hay & pallets, not too hot) and the dang thing SHRANK. The point at the top of the shield doesn't even reach the birdbeak anymore. Have had good results with Paul Conway & Firestores Shields

Several of our guys have the Sam Browns, haven't heard anything bad about them yet.
There's a couple of us in my department who have a Bob Stella shield. His shields are custom painted.
