WEB BASED SEMINAR
DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHRY FOR FIRE INVESTIGATORS

The International Association of Arson Investigators would like to announce the presentation of a "Webinar" on Digital Photography for Fire Investigator. This program is developed through the IAAI's Fire Investigator Distance Learning Project and funded by a grant from the DHS/USFA Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program. This important seminar will be available at no cost to registered participants at 1:00 pm EDT on Tuesday August 2, 2005. Registration information can be obtained by logging on to www.CFITrainer.net.
The instructor for the seminar will be John Twomey, Lead Forensic Photographer with the United States Secret Service. The program will discuss the use of digital photography by fire investigators and the introduction of digital photographs as evidence in court. Participants will receive written course materials and will have the opportunity to participate in a live "question and answer" session during the program, moderated by Jon C. Jones, Manager of the IAAI Fire Investigator Distance Learning Project. The program will discuss the basics of digital photography for fire investigators, software and editing procedures for digital images intend as evidence as well the very latest court decisions on the scope and admissibility of digital images in fire and explosion cases.
Through the telephone and internet-based presentation of the program, participants will be able to attend this state of the art training delivered right to their personal computer with no travel time or travel expenses associated with the program. At the completion of the program participants can choose to take an optional test and receive a certificate documenting their completion for those using the program for IAAI-CFI® credit.
While this Webinar is free, attendance will be limited to 400. To register for the program, logon to www.CFITrainer.net. If you are already a registered CFITrainer.net user select the Digital Photography Webinar program on the homepage and complete the registration form. New users will have to complete the CFITrainer.net registration process before selecting the program registration page.
Those who are unable to participate in the webinar will be able to access the recorded program at a later date on www.CFITrainer.net.
