GREATER ALARM BRUSH:


On Tuesday, June 14, 2005, at 1536 hours (3:36 p.m. PDT), ten companies of Los Angeles Firefighters, two Battalion Chief Officer Command Teams, one Battalion EMS Supervisor, two LAFD Rescue Ambulances, two LAFD helicopters, and other support personnel, under the direction of Battalion Commander John Duca, responded to a Greater Alarm Brush Fire at 20508 West Ventura Boulevard in the Woodland Hills area. First units on the scene reported approximately 2-3 acres of grass burning on a hillside. Firefighters using handlines and aided by helicopter drops aggressively attacked the fire and confined the fire to ten acres of grass. The fire was extinguished it forty-three minutes. There were several structures in the immediate area but none were threatened by the fire. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is listed as under investigation.

On A Rock In Rural Iowa

This huge rock is located on Highway 25 ........There is a huge gravel-rock pit here. Kids used to use if for obscenities, etc but since it has been painted like this it has been left alone!!! ....Quite an impressive sight....
