Same person, different screen name. Cellblock776 was banned. I'm Cellblock until I need to reregister again.

I don't think that will be necessary...you've been remarkably well behaved in your current incarnation...Originally posted by cellblock

"I have a dream. It's not a big dream, it's just a little dream. My dream — and I hope you don't find this too crazy — is that I would like the people of this community to feel that if, God forbid, there were a fire, calling the fire department would actually be a wise thing to do. You can't have people, if their houses are burning down, saying, 'Whatever you do, don't call the fire department!' That would be bad."

Steve,
I was wondering if you could help me. When I was a kid I used to do some fire buffing with my scanner. I wanted to get back into it, and I was wondering what kind of setup I might need and what kind of price I would be looking at. I'm in the market for a scanner, but I seen to be a little out of date with the lingo (i.e. trunking?) I would want to mainly listen to BRFD, BRPD & EBRSO. If you could give me some advice it sure would be appreciated. ThanksBRFD Eng. 1

I'd be glad to help. I'll PM you and we can take this off list.
Sure things have changed but with a little help I think I can have you trunktracking in no time. No big deal.
Also, I run a Group on Yahoo focused on scanning the Baton Rouge area- http://groups.yahoo.com/group/scanbatonrouge/ .
Radios and scanners are a big hobby for me. Ham radio too. In fact, I just walked in the door after spending several hours doing grass cutting and site work at one of the repeater sites for SouthEast REACT. Keeping the repeaters on the air and the tower sites cleaned up is a nonstop job.
