I have seen some threads on here, of people wondering where they can get Firefighting gear for a costume party or something. They got shot down very fast, because of the thought that they could be a terrorist or something of the sort.
Well, it couldnt be much easier for ANYONE to pose as Firefighter.

Perhaps there are some cracks in the system that need filling?

What's your point?
"The education of a firefighter and the continued education of a firefighter is what makes "real" firefighters. Continuous skill development is the core of progressive firefighting. We learn by doing and doing it again and again, both on the training ground and the fireground."

Around Halloween a person, I think her handle was something like toohot007, or something, wanted to borrow some fire gear for her and her girlfriends for a party. Well, needless to say she got torn apart here.
Not exaclty sure why the kid is bring this up now or again for that matter.Jim

I am aware of that halloween request.
I think firekid feels that fire related items should not be sold on EBay for security reasons.
While it's true that anyone can buy the stuff (just go to any Fire Rescue expo, you can buy everything you need right there as far as uniforms and turnouts without being asked for any form of ID whatsoever), anyone who is thinking of using fire gear for illicit or terrorist purposes isn't going to buy it, they'll just steal he stuff."The education of a firefighter and the continued education of a firefighter is what makes "real" firefighters. Not sure they would need to steal it either - they have plenty of money and probably attract a lot less attention buying it.Originally posted by CaptainGonzo
