New England Fire Rescue Expo
One of my fellow Captains on the MFD and I went to the New England Fire Rescue Expo in West Springfield today. Lots of new stuff, plenty of "apparati" and the usual stuff. For the first time that I can remember... the only cash I spent was for parking and the admission fee.. a total of $10! When the Lovely Mrs. Gonz asked me what I bought and said "nothing"... she was shocked! The cash I brought with me will be redirected into my flight lesson fund
I met a couple of firehouse forum vets and fellow crusties there.. Tim Cook aka Rescue 101 and PuffyNPFD"The education of a firefighter and the continued education of a firefighter is what makes "real" firefighters. Continuous skill development is the core of progressive firefighting. We learn by doing and doing it again and again, both on the training ground and the fireground."

First time I had been there in 5 yrs. Still a great show. It was good to see ya Gonz!! Last time being at Jeremy's in NYC in Oct. 02. Stay Safe all!!!"I have no ambition in this world but one, and that is to be a fireman. The position may, in the eyes of some, appear to be a lowly one; but we know the work which a fireman has to do believe that his is a noble calling."

Capt and Puffy, were you guys there for the parade of "apparati"? Unfortunately I wasn't able to make it out this weekend for it..It's usually a spectacular sight...Last time I was there for it was back in 2001 when our newest piece was on display at the pierce booth. The comments made by me are my opinions only, not of the Fire and EMS services I am affiliated with.
I have lost my mind..has anyone seen it? it's not worth much..but it's mine

I didnt make this years expo. I went last year and had alot of fun, but this year I went where the money was.........being an engineer! Made just shy of $800 in two days.I dont suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

I went on Saturday. Why must they have picked the hottest weekend of the month?Even the burger-flippers at McDonald's probably have some McWackers.
