Can you imagine working for a company that has a little more than 500 employees and has
the following statistics:
- 29 have been accused of spousal abuse
- 7 have been arrested for fraud
- 19 have been accused of writing bad checks
- 117 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses
- 3 have done time for assault
- 71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit
- 14 have been arrested on drug-related charges
- 8 have been arrested for shoplifting
- 21 are currently defendants in lawsuits
- 84 have been arrested for drunk driving in the last year
Can you guess which organization this is?
Give up yet?
It's the 535 members of the United States Congress. The same group of idiots that crank out hundreds of new laws each year designed to keep the rest of us in line.

Wheres The Credibility Here
You need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the duct tape.

Peolple say that firefighters and police officers are drunks, 84 of the 535 Congressional leaders being arrested for drunk driving in the last year is a staggering number.

LOL
Let us not forget that they also had the forthought to make the little loop holes in those laws so that they will have a way out. In the unlikely event that they can't get out of it, they can appeal and plea bargain, and continue it to death.
I'd feel real proud if I could vote myself a raise on a whim, and still have lousy credit. There goes the neighborhood.

Let us also not forget that one member of the Senate has a conviction for vehicular manslaughter.

Here's snopes.com's take on the e-mail, complete with a history of it and a comparable Canadian version.
Even if it were completely true, don't think it would be any indictment of our times. Consider this quote:
"The only persons who do not have a revolver and a knife are those who have two revolvers" - Senator James Hammonds, a South Carolina Democrat, speaking of the US Congress in 1860.Last edited by EFD840; 06-27-2005 at 09:38 AM.

Hey, i knicked one of those from the monopoly set, if i get arrested, im hoping it will work

For all the life of me, i cant see a firefighter going to hell. At least not for very long. We would end up putting out all the fires and annoying the devil too much.

OK, Now What?................
The Most-Abused Fire Dept. in the U.S.A. right now is probably Sacramento, Cal. How does congress stack up against the SFD? I got 3 to 1 that the FD comes out with a much better score. As in, The SFD will look a lot better than Congress.
