    Smile Greetings from the UK!

    Hi there!

    Im Claire and I am from the UK. I have just applied to become a Special Constable at my local Police Force. Thought I would register and say Hi! Seems hard to find a forum for people who are in the emergency services. Im 21 and eventually hope to join up as a regular Police Officer. A couple of my friends are in the Force already and one is a Firefighter. Greatest respect to you all of you out there risking your lives to save others!

    Have just watched Ladder 49 aswell, brilliant film! Have seen it like 4 times already.

    Welcome to the forums. Where abouts in the UK are you from? I originally come from Leicestershire - lived in Canada most of my days though!

    Hi Dave,

    I am from Surrey. How long have you been in Canada? Are you a firefighter there? I cant wait to join the Police. Still waiting on my application for the Specials.

    I have just been watching the news all day of the bomb blasts on the underground in London. I have never seen anything like this in England before.

    Hi Claire!

    I'm 19 and a volunteer firefighter in Atlantic Canada. My boyfriend is the U.S. Air Force and he is stationed in England at Lakenheath.

    Hi Paris!

    How long have you been a volunteer? What sort of things do you get up to? I am really looking forward to starting as a volunteer Police Officer. Dont seem to have the same thing for the fire brigade over here in the UK.

    How long has your boyfriend been in the USAF? Is he flying planes? Im not sure where lakenheath is in the UK, that sounds silly lol. I will have to look it up. One of my best friends is in the British Army. He is based in Basra and will be there for about 6 months. Its crazy how long they can be away for!

    Hey Claire!

    I have been a volunteer for about a year for a really small department. We do not get many calls but we had a motor vehicle accident to go to the other night.

    He doesn't fly planes, but he fixes them. I think it is near Nottingham because I have a good friend there, it's northeast England.
