Taking my Physical Ability Test

I am taking my Physical ability test next week for acceptance into the Fire Academy. Any suggestion would be great.

The test i have to take consists of 5 tasks:
Stair Climb with two 50-foot sections of 1.5 hose

Hose hoist

Forcible Entry

Hose Advance

Victime Rescue

I took my P/A test for our department at age 40. Sounds like the same type of test. Good luck and dont worry.

This is is good to hear, this test also sounds much like the one I will be facing in coming months.

@ age 43, I joined our VFD in January this year and have completed the first of 3 courses for FF1. I am going thru our local technical school to become state/npq qualified & apply for our cities paid department.

I'm glad to see someone my age that says they didn't have a problem with the PAT.

when you take it remember to RELAX dont get all paniky and stress out before you take it. i found i did tons better the second time i did it due to just relaxing and not freaking out !

Yea, this was a mid life crises. Changed careers from LE to FD. Go figure. I am a lot happier now. Should have made the move years ago.
