    Thumbs up Shipping out

Well the time has come; tomorrow at noon my recruiter is picking me up from home and taking me to Fort Dix to do my final MEPS before I head off to Navy boot camp. After I finish at Ft. Dix tomorrow I'll stay at hotel and the next morning catch a flight to O'hare as I go to Great Lakes, IL. So this is going to be my last post here for a while, so I hope everyone stays safe out there. Catch you all on the flip side.

Ah, I have heard many a foul-mouthed mumble and grumbling my old Corspmen and all the squids (note that there is a difference) about Great Mistakes.

Whatcha gonna be doing for a career field?

And does this mean that there will be no more sentences typed by you in a vain attempt to be called "jokes?"

Are you leaving the FDNY for the Navy or is that just your screen name?

    Good luck.

    Good Luck!

Garrett, congrats bro and good luck to you!

No folks, he's not a member of the FDNY, it's just his s/n. I believe he knows some guys from that house or did a ride along or something along those lines...

Never met a guy with a greater fondness for tillers... Even if he does like E-Won't apparatus!

    Good ole Great Mistakes.
When you get liberty, get as far away from the base as possible w/o getting into trouble and deny being a sailor.
Not saying you should be ashamed of serving your country, that should bust your chest with pride.
It's because the attitude of the stores, bars and other places in North Chicago was to take every nickel a sailor had and then make him want to come back in two weeks on payday. The Helm Club on base isn't much better.
    I went to BT/MM A School myself.Snipe's Castle,12th Battalion,Co 122.
Didn't too so hot there but made up for it when I got to the fleet. You might be going to the same course as the only difference between a nuke and an oil fired plant is what heats the water. You still gotta know what is going on on the other side of the bulkhead.
If anyone says"You will see this material again",write it down. You just got something that's going to be on the test.
    Good luck with it.

E-gads man! You mean you intentionally want to sink? Are you out of your ever loving, cotton-picking mind son?

    Sheesh.

Glad to hear that you made it. Now remember that the Skipper is the Captain and commands the boat. But the cob OWNS the boat. Never, ever, ever **** off the COB.

P.S. That loud banging sound you hear outside the boat is just a whale who confused your boat with a good piece of tail.

Submarine School huh? Well I guess there is no accounting for taste eh? Of course this comes from a 'skimmer' rider. LOL

When you get off base liberty, stay off the strip just outside the main gate in North Chicago.
They work hard over there to seperate unsuspecting sailors and their money.
20 years can't have gotten things any better.
Go North, young man,go North.Waukegan or farther to get away from people that try to prey on sailors.

Also, don't think that A School is the real Navy, don't get married until you get your fleet orders and report there for duty, and DON'T get a tattoo anywhere around North Chicago.
