    South Kensington flats fire


    Firefighters are still at the scene of a fire in a block of flats on Cromwell Road in South Kensington. Six fire engines and around thirty firefighters tackled the blaze which started on the first floor of the four storey block. Residents living inside the flats managed to leave safely before the Brigade arrived. The blaze destroyed almost all of the ground floor, as well as around a quarter of the second floor, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation. The Brigade was called at 1444 and crews are still at the scene.


    Stratford warehouse blaze

    Eight fire engines and around forty firefighters tackled a blaze in a warehouse on Union Street in Stratford last night. The Brigade was called after passers-by saw smoke coming from the derelict building. The blaze destroyed around a quarter of the ground floor of the five storey warehouse which was empty at the time. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The Brigade was called at 1822 and the fire was under control by 2030. Crews from Poplar, Bow, Stratford and Bethnal Green fire stations attended the incident.
