    FRIDAY 29 JULY

    Peckham Ė fire in restaurant

Around twenty firefighters fought a blaze at a restaurant on Coldharbour Lane in Peckham last night. The fire damaged ducting leading from the ground floor to the roof of the three storey building and spread into a kitchen area on the ground floor. Nobody was in the building at the time of the incident. Firefighters fought the fire from the roof of the building and managed to stop it from spreading to adjoining buildings. The cause of the fire is being investigated, but is not thought to be suspicious. The Brigade was called at 2140. Crews from Peckham and Brixton fire stations attended the incident.
