    Default NFPA standards

I am looking for a copy of the NFPA standards. Things like; 1001, 1003, 1035 and 1041.
All I can find cost lots of money and we have a very limited budget. Anyone know of somewhere to download these?

    Thanks

That is the way you are going to get them, through the NFPA!! No where else.

Some are available for free at www.nfpa.org (such as 1403). Others, you have to buy...someone has to pay for the printing, research, etc. Or...try the public library.
My comments are sometimes educated, sometimes informed and sometimes just blowing smoke...but they are always mine and mine alone and do not reflect upon anyone else (especially my employer).

Some departments have copies that you can flip through. Which one are you looking for specifically?

Unfortunatly - the good Capt. is right. Almost all of the "standards" must be purchased.

My suggestion to low budget departments is (as firemanjb stated) contact the local library. Even if they don't have them, they may be willing to order them or at least get them loaned from another library.

Another option is to try going together with some other Dept's in your area and buying a set to share.

You can read 1901 online at www.nfpa.org. But can not print, copy etc.

Check with your local community college or technical college. They may have purchased a plan where you can sign on. Hope this helps.

Check for printed copies in your local library. Our county library has a complete set of the National Fire Codes.
