I got a call yesterday afternoon telling me that I had made it through the last step of the hiring process for Noblesville Fire Dept in Noblesville, IN. I got the Job. The medical and psych exams were the last step and I officially passed those. I can hardly contain myself. I would be bouncing off the walls but there is soooo much to do to get ready to move. I start on OCT 3! I got to get the house on the market, get packed and moved.
I have to admit though that I will miss IL. What a great state to be introduced to firefighting and to volunteer in. I will miss it here in Tampico. But I have to go where the jobs are and I am soo looking forward to my new career.
At 31 a new career is such a big deal especially with a wife a 3 kids ages 1, 6, 8. I owe my wife so much. She was supportive throughout the process and supportive of the decision to leave. Of course it helps that we are moving to within 10 mins of her parents.![]()
But still I owe her soo much. She is truly a wonderful wife and friend. I intend to stick around the forums and forever will remain an IL flatlander at heart.
