Fire ChiefThe town's recently named fire chief passed his employment physical this week, but was admitted to Greenwich Hospital for observation after doctors became concerned about him Monday during the examination, First Selectman Jim Lash said yesterday.
Lash, who serves as the town's fire commissioner, said Chief Sanford "Sandy" Anderson, 73, was admitted for observation Monday and kept overnight at the hospital. He declined to specify why, saying only that staff at Occupational Health Services, 75 Holly Hill Lane, became concerned about Anderson during the physical.
